Fighting crime in fashion for Lash

The owner of a long-time Sault Ste. Marie business vows he’ll keep getting tough on crime at his store after a man tried to take merchandise worth several thousand dollars from his Steelton business.

Sault store using T-shirts sales to buy security cameras, raise awareness around property crime

SAULT STE. MARIE -- A clothing store in Sault Ste. Marie is looking to bring more attention to ongoing property crime in the city.

H.R. Lash is selling T-shirts with its name on it and a slogan reading “F@#k around and find out!” It makes light of a scary situation at the store in December.

H.R. Lash is more than a high-quality, locally-owned and operated Sault Ste. Marie clothing store.

The 103-year-old John Street business is an historical landmark, its walls lined with fascinating Lash family photographs, the family itself with many true stories to tell.

One of those stories involves Sir Winston Churchill, the heroic British Prime Minister who guided the United Kingdom through the Second World War.

Family clothing store in for the long run: H. R. Lash has been a west end fixture for 95 years.

Many generations of steel and paper workers in Sault Ste. Marie's west end have gotten their first suit or pair of dress shoes at H. R. Lash.

The corner store at John Street and St. Andrew's Terrace has been a fixture in the Steelton business district since 1914.
